New Mac Pro!

Some of us were giddy about the new toy, er, I mean, work horse...

Gulp and glee

So, the G5 is officially dead.  Somehow, my G4 is still going strong...ish.  The G4 is woefully inadequate for our needs, so time to upgrade... Can we afford it?  C'mon, can we afford not to?

So do we go cheap and get a Mac Mini?  How about a used laptop?  iMac?  Nah.  We took the plunge and got a brand new MacPro - and got a $200 discount, since they misdiagnosed our G5 at first and put a video card in.  We got the refund on the card as well.

Dude.  I'm giddy.

Now I Remember...

What I wanted to say...

Blogging makes me want to take pics and document my life.  I'm having to settle for pics with my little Canon SD 630 pocket camera or my iPhone... Not quite the quality of my old Hasselblad of yesteryear, but it gets the job done...

Tech

Here's something: My G5 is still dead. I did all I could, which is a lot, and couldn't figure it out. Brought it to Apple, they said it needed a new video card. Tried that. Didn't work. Its going back into the Apple Store today. My fear: logic board dead. That would be bad: About $1000 minimum. In other words, I'd buy a new computer. In the meantime, Leila is on the G4, which is too slow for all of her advanced computing needs. If it turns out we'll have to save for a couple weeks for a new computer, then we'll just RAM up the G4, and clean the drive a bit to try to speed it up...

Apple just came out with new notebooks yesterday... Oh baby. If I had unlimited funds, Leila and I would each be getting new Mac Pros and new MacBook Pros. Then I'd be happy.

If I had a BMW M5, of course.

And what if I just wanna say something?

That appears to be a lot faster to post. Dang, I thought I had something to say, and now its gone...

But hey, this took like, one minute!

How much time does blogging take?

I wanted to see how long it would take me to tweak four photos (levels, sharpen, red eye), add borders with my actions, upload them to photobucket, and post them on a blog... I'm almost there...

Yesterday was a brutal day at work:

Time: 21 minutes. And I'm a tech nerd. This will take some commitment. And I didn't even write anything....

About This Blog

I'm trying to figure this out.  I've got a live journal, a facebook, a my space, 2 websites, and an iPhoto gallery.

Why do I need a blog again?  I need a compelling reason.  I don't maintain any of the above, and I ask myself, would this be any different?

Lets find out.
