My Little Shiksa's
Rachel visited a Temple friday night. I had her take Ashlynn. I love to see them learning about other religions - especially Judaism. It was for one of Rachel's classes.

My sins...
I'm like a fat person now. I think if Ash bakes me "healthy, whole wheat brownies", I can eat more.
So I do. I had like two pans full this weekend. But I made them even healthier. By dousing them in copious quantities of Cool Whip Free, also a richly nutritious snack. Full of sugar and partially hydrogenated vegetable oil.

Digital TV Failure
This is our 3rd attempt at a good DTV converter box. It sucks, like the other two. Only Roy has the good one, RCA, which was out of stock.
Plus, reception is awful. We don't get half the channels, and the few we get are either Japanese, Spanish, or drop out. It could be the huge tree thinger directly in the path of our antenna.

The spa is back up!
Last night, Ash and I hit the spa! Ash loves astronomy and wants a telescope. We kill all the lights and check out the stars and planets.

Date Night
Leila and I have been pretty faithful about date night - every Saturday night - for years now. Since we had stake conference saturday night, we went on date afternoon. Reds BBQ. Leila got a blooming onion. For her meal. And lived to regret it. I think she ate like 10% of it.
Look how cute she is. These pics were clearly taken before the onion appeared in its glory.

Our Reading Time
Our reading time is even better than before, since Ashlynn does a large percentage of the reading to me. And the books are amusing. I read little kiddie books to my little kiddies back in the day, but I had to embelish them - a lot - to amuse myself. Lemony's books are, or course, deep and thought provoking. And he explains the big words so even I can understand them. I now rarely need to embelish.
I first started really enjoying reading time when we started in on Goosebumps many years ago... I kind of miss those books...
Those are my glasses. I'm old. And blind.

Getting our passports...
It was quite the party. 9 people. 100 square feet. 1.4 hours.
"I swear I am not a Muslim terrorist disguised as a mild mannered, sarcastic white girl who cares for kids with special needs. Amen."
"I swear I am not Jack Bauer"
"I swear my hair really is blond"
"I'm too young to swear. Daddy swears for me. But only if he's really mad"
"I swear I'll never get fat again"
"I swear I hate getting my renaissance portrait taken"
"I swear I really am a Jones"
"I swear this is so boring I'm going to kill myself. But only in the consulate"
You should see my pecs
