Lesson Relearned...
Matthew 6
19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
So, I did something a tad silly... Got a dream car... I've always loved cars, and I've never had a really nice one... Worst of all, I financed it, after swearing off debt a year ago.
I had this great car for 5 days, and on my way home from work I was going up one of those twisty on ramps. Oh baby. So much fun. How fast you might ask? As fast as I possibly could, of course. I'm Trevor. Its what I do.
The car wasn't really up to my superior driving abilities - I can easily handle 3 lateral G's - my car, only about .87. So it slid sideways, left, into the curb, as I went right up the on ramp. Hard. Likely $5000 hard. I wanted to cry.
Its in the shop. Insurance will cover all but deductible most likely. It will be perfect again, and I can't freaking wait to get it back.
But its just stuff. Sure, its fun, but it doesn't really matter on any level of relevance.
Wife. Kids. Family. Christ. Service. Kindness to others. That stuff matters, and brings lasting joy - not a temporary rush that wrecks your new stuff.

I don't see how this will benefit me.
